What is Dynamic Currency Conversion?
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) provides international cardholders of Visa and Mastercard the option to pay in their home currency, giving them a choice that can enhance their payment experience.
How does DCC work?
DCC activation at checkout
When a cardholder uses their card at the card terminal or during Viva.com Smart Checkout, DCC is activated.
Currency detection
The system detects the card’s currency. If it’s different from the merchant’s, then it presents 2 options to the cardholder: either pay in their home currency, or in the merchant’s ones.
Cardholder's currency selection
The cardholder selects their preferred currency on the POS screen or Smart Checkout and completes the payment.
