In a pan-European strategic partnership, omnichannel payments innovation by Viva.com powers Petit Bateau’s sophisticated Store+ solution, revamping traditional purchase journey
Athens, September 14, 2023 – Viva.com, a leading European cloud-based neobank and pioneer in innovative payments technology, and Groupe Rocher-owned Petit Bateau, a century-old French world-renowned clothing brand, are now introducing one of the most technologically forward purchase journeys in Europe. Petit Bateau's advanced Store+ solution, seamlessly intertwining in-store and online purchases, will now be powered by Viva.com's trailblazing payments technology, providing uninterrupted, fast, and credible payment options for customers. The strategic partnership aims to boost sales and skyrocket customer satisfaction by offering a unified and convenient payment experience, with the upgraded Store+ ordering tool making its debut in all Petit Bateau stores in Europe, including France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and the UK.
Store+ enables all Petit Bateau’s customers who enter the in-store iconic fashion universe to “leave” with their favorite item even if this is not in the store! A customized web-based tool that acts as an extension to the in-store customer service, allowing virtual access to the entire Petit Bateau collection and on-the-spot purchase paired with all standard online shopping benefits. Viva.com re-invented the checkout experience of the Store+ tool. “We switched from the outdated payment links, which made the Store+ checkout experience slow, ineffective, and in several occasions just spoiled the purchase, to the trailblazing viva.com | Terminal app with Tap to Pay technology,” notes Samy Touboul, Head of E-Commerce & Enterprise at Viva.com.
Viva.com | Terminal app turns the sales team’s tablets into a card terminal. No additional hardware, no additional fees, no complex integration processes, no puzzling payment options. Just a card or a smart phone tapping the tablet, also featuring PIN on glass, and the customer is ready to go, while their order is on its way.
“We thoroughly studied Petit Bateau’s tool to come up with the best possible solution and integration method. Being a technology house and a payments provider, we are agile and can tailor our embedded omnichannel payments platform to suit the requirements of each customer. At Viva.com we firmly believe that our payments technology should first and foremost adapt to the needs of our business customer, whether it is a local shop, a European marketplace, an Independent Software or Hardware Vendor, and then of course optimize their end customer’s experience,” concludes Mr Touboul.
“Due to the past inefficient payment options of the Store+ solution, our sales team was reluctant to use the tool, and the customers were just frustrated. Petit Bateau is known as a sustainable and innovative brand. We are extending this mindset across the full spectrum of our operations; from customer service to payments. Viva.com enhanced our Store+ tool connecting their innovative plug-and-play payments platform in a single device, while delivering European coverage. Just one month in with the upgraded tool, and selected stores have already doubled their turnover,” stated Myriam Van de Casteele, Omnichannel Project Leader at Petit Bateau.
